The City of Mount Gambier hosted a family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration at the Mount Gambier Showgrounds on December 31, 2024.
This year, the event will shift from its usual venue of Vansittart Park to the Mount Gambier Showgrounds. It will include the usual fireworks displays at 9pm for the little ones and again at midnight.
Mount Gambier New Year’s Eve Festival 2024/2025, Showgrounds
The annual event, organised by community committee Mount Gambier Community Events Management Inc., has been a staple in New Year’s Eve celebrations in Mount Gambier since its inception in 2009.
The event will also include activities for all ages, including live performances, attractions, and local mobile caterers. The entry fee will cover all entertainment and activities outside the on-site catering.
There is a great lineup of artists and something for all, from easy listening to an aboriginal reggae band, one of our SA The Voice contestants, a modern funk Melbourne artist and our very own local rapper.
Family-friendly activities with jumping castles, sand pit, kids corner, laser tag, egg and spoon races, carriage rides, face painting, glitter and balloon art (all kid’s activities are free), the kids will be sure to be entertained all night!
There are many different food vendors, from coffee vans to sweets and bar facilities (no BYO alcohol).
Feel free to bring rugs, chairs and picnic rugs. No pets, bikes, scooters or skateboards.
New Year’s Eve celebrations unite the whole community, regardless of background. They are the social side of society and important parts of the community calendar.
So come down to the showgrounds with your whole family and get involved in the New Year’s Eve Celebrations!
Tickets are available now online or at the gate on the night.
Does Mount Gambier host new year eve fireworks festival on 31 Dec 2020?
Hi Martin,
Unfortunately, the official new years eve event for this year has been canceled in Mount Gambier. This was announced earlier in the year due to the COVID-19 situation and restrictions on social distancing.
Managing a number of other websites, it appears that nearly every location has canceled their fireworks displays this year – only Sydney is going ahead and they have cut their display back to 7 minutes and you have to be either a resident or frontline to get anywhere near the harbour.
Thanks
Michael
What activities are included in the entry fee?
Hi Letitia,
All the activities are listed in the post: Minigolf, giant slides, pacer carts, kids gym, merry go round, bumper soccer, bungy run, photo booth, bucking bronco, sandpit, activity tent, face painting, roving entertainers, circus acts.
Kind regards,
Jess
