Zema Estate is a popular Coonawarra winery that was established in 1982 and is a quaint, family-owned winery. Due to the terra rossa soil, this vineyard is able to produce high-quality grapes every year, managing every single step from vine to wine.
The Zema family uses their own estate-grown grapes to create their wines and use many traditional viticulture techniques; including hand pruning and picking. They also manage winemaking, bottling and packaging within their small facility.

Learn more about the Zema family history and heritage whilst visiting. Initially, the Zema family started making wines for their personal consumption only, later deciding to expand their facility and make wines for commercial purposes.
The winery officially started when the family commenced their first winery in Calabria in 1835. When the Zema family moved to Coonawarra, they decided to expand their business at this small winery district of South Australia. Although the old tavern of Calabria is no longer available, the Zema family still continues to keep up the legacy and passion for winemaking through several generations.
