Bool Lagoon is a protected reserve located in the Limestone Coast region of Southern Australia. The reserve is characterized by the presence of various species of water birds and is adjacent to another Conservation Park called Hacks Lagoon. The two reserves have we maintained boardwalks which make them perfect locations for bird-watching.
There are about one hundred and fifty bird species which visit the lagoon, many of which migrate from the northern hemisphere in search for water and safe habitat.

The boardwalk via Mayhall Road leads to the ‘little lagoon’ which has different bird species than those which visit the larger lagoon. One of the most popular bird species found at Bool Lagoon is the Brolgas, which originates from Northern Australia. The region also has a wide variety of insects and various types of frog species which seek habitation in this region.
As a birdwatcher or animal lover, these parks provide the perfect environment to view these beautiful animals in their natural habitat.
For the safety of the general public and preservation of the area, wood fires are not allowed in these wetlands.
