The Millicent Civic and Arts Centre is of particular interest to photographers and fans of the art. The Limestone Coast and other local photographers support shows here; every year, there are winners that showcase a photographer to look out for. Some of the local photographers who have been awarded include Sonya Francis, Margaret Carter, Charles Prime, Luke Wehmann, and many others.
If you are visiting, look out for their exhibits. They also have a yearly exhibition called the Group of Seven Plus One, which promotes mentoring local artists – especially those who haven’t had a chance to display their work in the past.
Aside from showcasing art, the Millicent Civic and Arts Centre is also committed to education in the arts. They work together with the district, as well as local schools, to help showcase students’ art. Previously successful shows include Where The Wild Things Are, and the Millicent High School and Learning Centre Exhibition.
The Millicent Civic and Arts Centre is located at the Civic Centre Complex on Ridge Terrace in Millicent.
