It’s operated by the prestigious Casterton Racing Club; the oldest sporting club in the area. They are also the only club in the country who has a live hedge steeplechase within their racecourse. Some of their popular events include the Casterton Cup and the Heywood Cup Day. If you are keen to attend these events, it’s recommended to pre-purchase tickets ahead of time to skip the queues.
Kids aged 16 and below are granted free entrance to racing meets. Anyone interested in memberships with the Casterton Racing Club can get in touch with the club directly; races are held annually from May through August. Four race meetings are held each year, with a maximum of 14 runners for the distances.
Visitors should keep in mind the dress code of the racecourse: neat casual or country casual. Depending on the event you’ll be attending, some free activities may be planned for children. To be sure, check the program of events. Car parking areas are free to use.
